Over the course of my career, I have written for an almost puzzling array of magazines and newspapers, from Reader’s Digest International to Bloomberg Business Week, Canadian Geographic Traveler to the New York Times. That is the lot of the independent journalist — to wander and pitch all over the place without every really being associated with a “platform” or “brand.”
